Andrew and Frances Peacock extend a warm and friendly welcome at Maypool Park  where the relaxed atmosphere ensures that your stay will be most enjoyable. Set in the tranquillity of the South Hams, Maypool Park has been likened to paradise, and when you discover it, in the middle of an area of outstanding natural beauty, you will understand why.

Maypool Park enjoys a wonderful setting, 300 feet above the River Dart, with magnificent river views towards Dartmouth. Maypool  itself has remained private so the guesthouse and the surrounding area is blissfully peaceful. At night, the only sound you are likely to hear is the occasional call of an owl.

The picturesque terrace, with its wonderful views, invites you to sit and relax awhile.  You will not have to wait long for the sight and sound of a steam train chugging up the viaduct below.

Your comfort and care is uppermost in our minds and extends throughout Maypool Park.  All our rooms are fully ensuite, with colour television.  Two of our bedrooms are on the first floor, and the third room is on the second floor, thereby taking advantage of the stunning views towards Dartmouth in one direction, and over Torbay towards Lyme Bay in the other.

Our guests’ lounge-dining-room is elegantly furnished, and has a woodburner for those chilly spring and autumn evenings

Maypool Park is ideally situated for exploring the English Riviera, South Devon and Dartmoor National Park, yet is a convenient retreat for those visiting the nearby Torbay area whilst on business.  Many gardens, National Trust and English Heritage properties are within easy reach.  For the active, there is gold, riding, fishing, bird-watching and other sports available nearby.  As you would expect, there are many pleasant walks directly from the guesthouse, indeed the Dart Valley Trail passes immediately behind us, and the South West Coastal Path and sandy beaches are just two miles away.
